UniversityOfTlemcen Welcomes the Ambassador of Slovenia on a Courtesy Visit

Reflecting its commitment to international cooperation and academic openness, #UniversityOfTlemcen welcomed today, Thursday, 08 October 2026, H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Algeria, Ms. Urška Kramberger Mendek, on a courtesy visit.
◈ H.E. the Ambassador and her accompanying delegation were received at the Rectorate by #Professor_Mourad_Meghachou, Rector of the University, in the presence of senior university administrators.
◈ The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to strengthen joint cooperation and open up promising prospects for academic and research partnerships with Slovenian higher education institutions. In a meaningful symbolic gesture, H.E. the Ambassador planted a tree on the university campus, embodying the values of friendship, openness and communication, while also reflecting a shared commitment to environmental awareness and fostering a culture of sustainability within the university community.
◈ Following the official reception, the visiting delegation headed to the Institute of Applied Sciences and Techniques (ISTA), where they were welcomed by Professor Abbas Marouk, Director of the Institute, together with his administrative team. During the visit, Professor Amazigh Dib gave a presentation on the institute, followed by a tour of one of its laboratories. The Ambassador then met with the institute's students and spoke with them in a warm atmosphere marked by mutual interest, wishing them every success in their studies. On this occasion, she also planted a second tree on the institute's grounds.
■ This visit reaffirms the university's continued commitment to strengthening its international presence, building bridges of cultural and scientific dialogue, and developing fruitful university partnerships.
