The University of Tlemcen is pleased to announce that student Raounak Merfoud has been awarded an Excellence Prize within the AFRIDI – Intra-Africa project, recognizing the scientific quality of her work and her outstanding academic achievements.

🔹 This distinction follows her AFRIDI mobility scholarship, where the University of Tlemcen is a principal partner, coordinated locally by the Vice-Rectorate for External Relations.

🔹Her research focused on the impact of polystyrene nanoplastics and glyphosate exposure on the progression of type 1 diabetes, conducted at University of Tlemcen and University of Tunis El Manar. Supervision was provided by:

🔸Prof. Mokhtari Soulimane Nassima Amel, University of Tlemcen (Algeria)

🔸Prof. Masmoudi Olfa, University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia)
