Launch of the First International Conference on Digital Pedagogy at the University of Tlemcen

▶ The activities of the international conference entitled “Digital Pedagogy: Strategies for Teaching and Distance Learning in the 21st Century” officially kicked off on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in a major academic and scientific event that will continue until Thursday, February 5, 2026. The conference is organized by the Laboratory of Multilingualism, Literary Expressions and Cultural Interactions (LLC) in collaboration with the Department of English, as part of efforts to support scientific research and keep pace with the transformations affecting higher education.
◈ The conference is chaired by Professor Dr. Faiza Haddam and Dr. Kamilia Ghouali, under the supervision of Dr. Amer Said Zakaria, Head of the Organizing Committee, while the Scientific Committee is chaired by Professor Dr. Hayat Maskhar, and is held in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Professor Wassila Morou.
◈ The event brings together a distinguished group of academics, researchers and experts from Algeria and abroad, with participants from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Mauritius, Jordan and India, in addition to broad participation from Algerian universities, reflecting the international dimension of the conference and strengthening academic exchange and multicultural scientific dialogue.
■ The conference aims to open an in-depth academic debate on the transformations of higher education in light of rapid technological development, with a focus on strategies and mechanisms of distance teaching and learning, the associated pedagogical challenges, and future prospects of digital education in the 21st century. It also provides a platform for sharing experiences and expertise and for promoting research in digital pedagogy, contributing to the improvement of higher education quality and supporting digital transformation, with the conference expected to conclude with a roundtable discussion dedicated to formulating practical and actionable recommendations based on real experiences in online and distance education.
